Why a Daycare?

**Why I Started, The First Place Daycare and What Makes Us Different*

Opening The First Place Daycare has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. After spending years supporting children and families in different roles, I knew I wanted to create a space where young learners could grow, feel safe, and be supported every day. For 2½ years now, I’ve been proud to provide a nurturing and family-centered environment where children feel at home while building the skills they need for the future.

Before opening The First Place Daycare, I spent eight years supervising family visits for the Department of Children and Families and later became a foster parent. Those experiences taught me so much about child development, emotional needs, building trust, and the importance of consistency. I saw how the right environment can make a lasting difference in a child’s life, and those values are the foundation of our daycare.

At The First Place Daycare, we go beyond simply watching children. We are committed to helping them learn through play, discovery, conversation, and meaningful experiences. Children develop early literacy, math skills, creativity, problem-solving, social confidence, and independence—all while having fun. Whether reading stories, practicing letters, learning shapes, working on crafts, or playing outside, our activities are designed with purpose and care.

We also believe deeply in partnering with families. When a child joins The First Place Daycare, their family becomes part of ours too. Communication and transparency are key, and parents receive updates, newsletters, and activity information so they can stay connected to their child’s learning and development. Working together helps children feel supported in every environment.

What makes The First Place Daycare special is that we truly see and value each child. We meet every child where they are and help them grow at their own pace. Every child has strengths, interests, and a unique personality, and our job is to encourage those gifts. We celebrate milestones, build confidence, and create routines that help children feel safe and excited to learn.

As we continue to grow, we remain committed to providing high-quality care, warmth, respect, structure, and a positive learning environment. The early years shape a lifetime, and it is our honor to help guide children through these important stages of development.

Thank you to every family who has trusted The First Place Daycare with their little ones. We look forward to many more years of learning, growth, and happy memories.
